My 2012 Gaming Resolutions
Rather than lay these out here, I'd ask people to refer to the Geeklist I've created for this purpose. I'm asking for a certain amount of feedback from those who follow my musings.
I also made some gaming resolutions for 2012. But like all my resolutions in life, I'll probably just forget all about them in a few days. Hope you'll stick to yours. Good luck with them!
That's one of the reasons I make a Geeklist and comment on it over the course of the year - it helps me track progress and often assess whether or not the goal is one that has a reasonable chance of success and whether to keep it up or not. While I agree that most New Year's resolutions tend to fail, mine are intended to be more medium-term goals to direct some of my gaming over the course of the year rather than "self-improvement" goals which do, almost always, collapse in the face of entrenched behavior.
If you want to be more successful in your resolutions, try publicizing them, if even to something as infrequently viewed as your average blog. Much easier to keep at something if the "world" is watching.
